People and households earning $1 million or more annually made up just 0.1 percent, or just over 235,000, of the 140 million tax returns filed in 2009, and just 8,274 returns were filed by people making $10 million or more. [...]
And, the data shows, the 235,413 taxpayers who reported earning seven digits or more in 2009 took in a total of $726.9 billion — yet 1,470 paid not a penny of income taxes.

TAXES - WHY THINGS ARE SCREWED UP !
THE MEDIAN AMERICAN PAYS TWICE AS MUCH IN TAXES AS A PERCENTAGE OF INCOME AS THEY DID IN THE 1950'S & 1960'S. THE WEALTHIEST AMERICANS PAY TWO-THIRDS LESS THAN THEY DID BACK THEN.

PENTAGON SPENDING - 307 B IN 2001 GREW
TO 529B IN 2011 - INCREASE OF 72%. DOESN'T INCLUDE IRAQ/AFGHANISTAN. WEAPONS SYSTEMS THAT DON'T WORK, BUILT FOR THE PAST WARS, WAY OVER COST. HEY - WHERE'S THE SPACE BASED MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM - WE'VE BEEN BUILDING THAT FOR 30 YEARS, STILL IN THE DESIGN PHASE.
THE MEDIA SEEMS TO ONLY PROMOTE THE
TEA PARTY MESSAGE. MAYBE THATS WHY THE TEA PARTY SEEMS SO SUCCESSFUL.
SOME INTERESTING TRENDS
in Television - like the format of audience tv, all internet tv. Attracting viewer-ship in the face of 500 channels/choices +, and view-on-demand technology. Building a viewership that follows one than 3 of your programs. I personally don't watch network tv at all & maybe 3-5 programs seriously + 4 occasionally. Like how cable offers the show several times during the week and a season marathon. Of course one can always record.
